This VR Technology Brings Artwork To Life In 3D

Virtual reality (VR) is emerging as a tool that artists can use to express themselves in ways that were unimaginable just a few years ago. While the paintbrush is yet to see its last day, the world of art continues to explore ways new technologies that can transform the artistic process. One of them is VR which is beginning to have a big impact in the domain of art and creativity.

Last year, Google introduced Tilt Brush, which is a room scale 3D painting application for motion interfaces in VR. This software also works with keyboard and mouse, with users can export their images as animated GIFs.

Tilt Brush was a brainchild of video game developers turned VR enthusiasts,a Drew Skillman and Patrick Hackett. The software was just an accident after the two found a bug in a 3-D chess application, which they eventually dropped after seeing the potential of another tool for drawing in three dimensions.

Skillman and Hackett cobbled together a rudimentary system called Tilt Brush. Tech giant Google acquired their company for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition enabled the startup to attract a team of developers and resulted in the evolution of a sophisticated tool for drawing, painting, and sculpting in space.

Google released TiltBrush in April 2016 as a free add-on to the HTC Vive, a VR system manufacturer by Taiwanese electronics company HTC and American video game developer Valve. The tech world went gaga over this product with one reviewer describing it as Valve’s killer app.

TiltBrush has the potential to move the fashion industry further forward. Users can use the application to paint with textured fabrics such as denim, silk, cotton, and leather. Designers can have a 360-degree view of their creations and can step around their work in progress.

The Google Cultural Institute invited a select group of artists to test the technology in Paris earlier last year. Some of them include calligrapher Said Dokins, graffiti artist Chu, and Cuban-American artist George Rodriguez-Gerada.

For Chu, TiltBrush will revolutionize people’s view of immersive artworks. For Rodriguez-Gerada, the application can be a platform for installations in the museum and gallery space.

As a tool for creators of all artistic background and styles, TiltBrush allows users to film their sketches, take 2D snapshots, and export them as 3D objects. Back in January 2017, Google unveiled the TiltBrush Toolkit, which is an open source library for users who want to share their TiltBrush art to other creative projects. The toolkit is one way for TiltBrush artists to create narrative, interactive, and immersive content. Using sketches made in TiltBrush, artists can make movies, interactive stories, video games, and music videos.

Lost Ways Of Survival Video

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.

Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.

We've lost to history so much survival knowledge that we've become clueless compared to what our great grandfathers did or built on a daily basis to sustain their families.

Neighbors said that for the last couple of years Claude has tried to unearth and learn the forgotten ways of our great-grandparents and claimed to have found a secret of gargantuan proportions.
