This Robot Has The Moves

Boston Dynamics is a robotics company funded by tech behemoth Google. The U.S. military-backed company is known for developing robots that are almost the stuff of science fiction. Last February 2017, Boston Dynamics terrified and amazed the world when it released a footage featuring its latest creation – Handle – a towering robot that will make you realize that those Terminator movies were documentaries.

The video shows Handle lifting up 100-pound crates, gliding across ramps like a professional skater, and effortlessly jumping onto a four-foot platform. The two-wheeled robot is equipped with electric and hydraulic actuators that are electrically powered. With a range of about 15 miles on one battery charge, the research robot can travel at 9 miles per hour.

Boston Dynamics’ quadrupled and biped robots served as an inspiration to the makers of Handle, which uses many of the same dynamics, balance and mobile manipulation principles found in his cousins. Handle’s wheels are efficient on flat surfaces while its legs can go almost anywhere. The robot has only 10 actuated joints, so it is less complex than many of Boston Dynamics’ other designs.

Google’s new humanoid robot can navigate a variety of different terrains including snow, concrete, hills, and staircases. Handle combines the functions of its legs and wheels to go almost anywhere.

Handle is still a research project. There are no concrete details yet if we will see the robot operating in the real world. Last year, rumors circulated that the Alphabet subsidiary was in the process of being acquired by Toyota’s Research Institute. This development will open new doors for the commercial exploitation of Handle. Toyota infused one billion dollars into its robotics research institute. This bodes well for Handle and other innovative robotic developments.

Boston Dynamics came up with a robot that is now capable of rolling down stairs, lifting loads, and jumping onto tables. Handle is an evolutionary marvel but is a startling reminder that we can now create robotic forms superior to anything you will find in nature.

While the human body remains the masterpiece of evolution, Handle is proof that humans are making giant leaps in replicating bipedalism that evolution gave us. Back in 2015, a hybrid robot named DRC-HUBO won the Darpa Robotics Challenge. The South Korean-made humanoid could kneel and scoot around on wheels. Handle is somewhat of a reaction to DRC-HUBO, which crushed the competition of almost entirely bipedal humanoids.

The wheeled Robot received much fanfare when its video first came out. Comments on Boston Dynamics’ official YouTube channel range from receptive to funny and critical. One suggests modifying Handle with big goggly eyes to make it more personable. Another one kids about putting two samurai blades and to make it breathe fire. Another one believes that Handle is scary for it is funded by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Lost Ways Of Survival Video

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.

Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.

We've lost to history so much survival knowledge that we've become clueless compared to what our great grandfathers did or built on a daily basis to sustain their families.

Neighbors said that for the last couple of years Claude has tried to unearth and learn the forgotten ways of our great-grandparents and claimed to have found a secret of gargantuan proportions. A secret that he is about to reveal together with 3 old teachings that will change everything you think you know about preparedness:
