This Plane Cabin Concept Detaches And Parachutes To Safety

According to official statistics, there is just one plane flight in every 1.2 million crashes annually. While riding an airplane remains one of the safest modes of transportation, Ukrainian engineer Vladimir Tatarenko proposed an aircraft design last year that has detachable cabins, claiming that it could save the life of everyone on-board if the plane gets into trouble.

Tatarenko has been working on the project since 2013 with the sole goal of making air travel safer. His idea involves a separate passenger engine that can detach from the engine, wings, and cabin in the event of an on-flight accident. The cabin will deploy a parachute to lower it to the ground.

This new safety system design features a cabin that includes storage space, so cargo and passenger luggage remain safe. According to Tatarenko, surviving a plane crash is possible, but aircraft engineers can do nothing about human error.

Tatarenko’s radical design is equipped with rubber tubes that inflate to cushion the impact to the ground or water. He noted that the design would consider the existing technology of using Kevlar and carbon composites for fuselage, wings, flaps, spoilers, and tail. These composites will partly compensate the weight of the parachute system.

However, commercial airplanes have not shown much interest in Viktor’s proposal which they believe would increase aircraft price, reduce seating capacity, and consumer more fuel. Many people have also expressed reservations about the idea. One social media user noted that less than 500 people die worldwide a year from plane crashes and there millions of flights yearly. Another criticized Tatarenko’s concept for dramatically weakening the airframe due to the joints and fittings to connect a fuselage and a body together.

While the proposal posits a cutting-edge design, it seems impractical, according to critics. They highlighted the potential impact of the design on the rest of the plane and the possibility of the detached cabin smashing into crowded areas or mountains. They even questioned the escape plan for the pilots.

Tatarenko argued that he conducted a survey that found the willingness of 95% of the respondents to buy a more expensive ticket to use such a safety system. Back in 2015, he also designed an escape capsule system that would rescue passengers on board. The capsule will detach itself through a rear hatch at the tail end of the plane. It has two gunpowder engines that will slow down the speed of its decent and then a parachute will pop out.

Air travel remains safer than you think despite high-profile accidents over the past five years. The year 2014 was a bad one for the aviation industry due to the flight catastrophes of the MH370, MH17, Air Algerie 5017 and Air Asia QZ8501. There were six other incidents that year but with million commercial jet departures per year, does Tatarenko’s idea will up the ante for air travel safety?

Lost Ways Of Survival Video

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.

Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.

We've lost to history so much survival knowledge that we've become clueless compared to what our great grandfathers did or built on a daily basis to sustain their families.

Neighbors said that for the last couple of years Claude has tried to unearth and learn the forgotten ways of our great-grandparents and claimed to have found a secret of gargantuan proportions.
