This Cheer Group Proves There’s Room For Inclusion When It Comes To Cheerleading

Seven month ago, an Australian cheerleading squad won the hearts of millions of people around the world after a video of their winning routine was posted on Facebook. One of the team’s members is Debbie Threlfo, who was in a wheelchair when they performed at the 2016 New South Wales All Star Battle Cheer Edition held in Sydney. The Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) posted the video on its page. In seven days, the video went viral and garnered more than six million views.

Debbie was part of an all-ability cheerleading team. She has a cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. Together with three other cheerleaders, Stark performed some high-energy moves in and out of the wheelchair.

The team’s performance was positively received by the social media. One praised the team for their beautiful work and electric performance. The team placed first in the level one all ability category. Debbie became an instant celebrity and found herself in high demand, with requests for interviews from international media.

Threlfo had always wanted to be a cheerleader for some years. Everyone doubted her until she herself contacted her team, Oxygen All-Star Lithium Team and proved everyone wrong. According to Threlfo, she got into cheerleading through her research. She informed her mom about her try-out until the day of it. The rest is so-called history for this young woman who is now an example of how God wants us to go through life despite one’s physical limitations.

Debbie is living proof that anybody can do anything even if they are disabled. Hats off to the people who helped her make her dreams come through.

The 27-year-old shared that it was her teammate Ryan whom she contacted before she joined Oxygen All-Star. Ryan was the one who trained her, who reports to the team an hour a week. The coach spent the first half hour focusing on stretching and flexibility while the other half on stunts with the squad.

One of Debbie’s coaches was Courtney Turton who choreographs routines for all ages, abilities, and levels. She noted that it was easy working with Debbie’s team due to their passion and dedication.

Debbie is also an information technology student at the University of Newcastle. She has no plans of giving up on cheerleading yet.

According to Stephen James, executive director of AASCF, the organization is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of cheerleading as an athletic discipline and sport. The AASCF ensures that its Special Ability teams are included with their cheer and dance community and are not considered as an exhibition nor showcase.

A gofundme campaign was set up for Debbie on July 25, 2016, to support the cost associated with her therapies and to help continue her cheerleading career.

This cheer group proves there’s room for inclusion when it comes to cheerleading.

Lost Ways Of Survival Video

An amazing discovery in an abandoned house in Austin, Texas: A lost book of amazing survival knowledge, believed to have been long vanished to history, has been found in a dusty drawer in the house which belonged to a guy named Claude Davis.

Remember... back in those days, there was no electricity... no refrigerators... no law enforcement... and certainly no grocery store or supermarkets... Some of these exceptional skills are hundreds of years of old and they were learned the hard way by the early pioneers.

>> Click here to find out about them now

We've lost to history so much survival knowledge that we've become clueless compared to what our great grandfathers did or built on a daily basis to sustain their families.

Neighbors said that for the last couple of years Claude has tried to unearth and learn the forgotten ways of our great-grandparents and claimed to have found a secret of gargantuan proportions. A secret that he is about to reveal together with 3 old teachings that will change everything you think you know about preparedness:
